Kenny Alameda

President
Kenny Alameda founded Clipper Oil in 1985 and was in charge of day-to-day operations for the company from 1985-2006. Today he oversees Clipper Oil's long term strategic planning and new business opportunities.

He has spent his entire business career in the tuna industry with previous positions as Vice President of Procurement and Vessel Operations for Bumble Bee Seafoods from 1978-1981 and as President of Cape Fisheries in 2001.

Kenny received a B.S. in Marketing from San Diego State University.

 
 

Kevin Alameda

Vice President

Kevin Alameda is in charge of the day-to-day operations at Clipper Oil. He is responsible for ensuring adequate inventory levels, growing the customer base and expanding Clipper Oil into new markets. Kevin has been with Clipper Oil since 2006 and has been actively involved in expanding Clipper’s operations throughout the globe.

Prior to his role at Clipper Oil, Kevin was the Manager of Procurement for Bumble Bee Seafoods.

Kevin received a B.A. in Economics & Political Science from the University of Michigan.

 
 

Sandi Myers

Controller

Sandi Myers is responsible for the day-to-day accounting duties and Financial Statement preparation at Clipper Oil. This includes reliable cash flow forecasting, monitoring credit exposure, inventory control, tax preparation and foreign currency functions. Sandi has been with Clipper Oil since 2008 and has played a dynamic role in Clipper’s growth.  

Prior to joining Clipper Oil, Sandi worked as a Controller with a national fundraising company and as a Staff Accountant with a local public accounting firm.

Sandi received her Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of San Diego.

 
 

Zheng Tian

Manager & Team Leader -
Singapore

Zheng Tian heads up Clipper Oil’s Singapore office. Zheng is responsible for expanding Clipper Oil’s operations in Singapore and throughout Asia-Pacific. He can be reached after-hours when the San Diego office is closed and allows Clipper Oil to cover our clients’ needs 24/7.

Prior to his role at Clipper Oil, Zheng spent 5+ years as a manager at Hin Leong Trading Pte Ltd.

Zheng received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and is fluent in English and Mandarin.

 

 
 

Eric Shahtaji

Director of Sales

Eric Shahtaji is responsible for business development out of Clipper Oil’s headquarters in San Diego, as well as quoting competitive bunker and lubricant prices to Clipper Oil’s worldwide clientele.

Before joining Clipper Oil, Eric worked as a logistics consultant for a shipping and freight management firm.

Eric received a B.A. in International Studies & International Business from the University of Iowa and is fluent in English and Spanish.

 
 

Kyle Olson

Senior Bunker Trader

Kyle Olson delivers competitive bunker and lubricant pricing to Clipper Oil's existing customer base and prospective clients.

Prior to joining the Clipper Oil team in 2017, Kyle lived in Minnesota and worked as a Commodity Trader dealing with bulk physical commodities for the renewable fuels and feed industries.

Kyle received a B.S. in Applied Economics with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Minnesota.

 
 

Chad Indihar

Director of Operations

Chad Indihar is responsible for Clipper Oil's physical markets including American Samoa, Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia. Chad is also responsible for managing Clipper Oil's Operations Department.

Prior to joining Clipper Oil, Chad worked in financial services and business operations management.

Chad received a B.S. in Finance from California State University, Long Beach.

 
 

Lori Green

Office Manager/Accountant

Lori Green serves as the Office Manager/Accountant at Clipper Oil where she ensures that the daily administrative operations run smoothly. Lori joined Clipper Oil in 2018 and is actively involved with the company’s credit management procedure.

Prior to joining Clipper Oil, Lori spent several years serving as an Office Manager, Executive Assistant and Bookkeeper in the Information Technology industry in San Diego.

Lori received a B.S. from Colorado State University and has a Professional Certificate in Accounting Management from San Diego State University.

 
 

Jaret LaRocco

Sales & Marketing Assistant

Jaret LaRocco is responsible for all in-house marketing projects at Clipper Oil, such as email newsletters, SEO updates and website development. In addition, he is tasked with keeping Clipper Oil’s supplier database up-to-date.

Prior to joining Clipper Oil in 2019, Jaret worked in customer service.

Jaret earned his B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of San Diego.

 
 

Kyle Renaud

International Petroleum
Specialist

Kyle Renaud is responsible for providing logistical and supply chain insights to various ship owners around the world.

Working hand in hand with the operations and trading team, Kyle is also involved in negotiating and monitoring supply agreements to ensure global business success.

Kyle attended the University of Windsor in Canada where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Just recently, he graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Kyle is fluent in English and in French.

 
 

Nate Bussell

Operations & Sales
Support Coordinator

Nate Bussell is responsible for operations and logistical coordination at Clipper Oil. He is the primary point of contact for Clipper Oil’s clientele and ensures that all products are delivered on a timely basis worldwide.

Prior to joining Clipper Oil, Nate worked in the fracking industry for Apache Corporation.

Nate received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Cockrell School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.

 
 

Rafael Velasco

Junior Staff Accountant

Rafael Velasco is responsible for performing professional accounting duties in analysis, preparation and maintenance of Clipper Oil’s financial records. This includes processing day-to-day transactions and reconciliations for the American Samoa, San Diego and Singapore offices.

Before joining Clipper Oil, Rafael worked in accounting roles for the hotel industry and import & export industry carrying out accounts payable and other administrative accounting duties.

Rafael received a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University. Rafael is fluent in English and Spanish.

 
 

Liane Morales

Junior Staff Accountant

Liane Morales is responsible for performing accounts payable duties for Clipper Oil’s various offices. She is also responsible for bank reconciliations, inventory control and other accounting functions and reports

Prior to beginning at Clipper Oil, Liane worked in accounting roles for CPA/Tax firms and the hospitality industry, carrying out bank reconciliations, accounts payable and financial statement preparation.

Liane received a B.S. in Biology from San Diego State University. Liane is fluent in English and Tagalog/Filipino.

Clipper Oil’s predecessor, Tuna Clipper Marine, was founded in 1956 by George Alameda and Lou Brito, two pioneers in the tuna fishing industry. Tuna Clipper Marine’s first supply location was in San Diego, California, USA where they serviced the local fishing fleet.

Established in 1985, Clipper Oil was formed to serve the needs of marine customers in the Western Pacific as vessels shifted their operations from San Diego. Clipper Oil has been a proven supplier of quality marine fuels, lubricants, and services to the maritime community for over 35 years, serving many ports throughout the Pacific Ocean. We maintain warehouses in Pago Pago, American Samoa; Majuro, Marshall Islands; and Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia. We also have operations in the Eastern Pacific in Balboa/Rodman, Panama and Manta, Ecuador. We supply marine vessels and service stations with fuel, lubricant oil, salt, and ammonia. We also supply our customer’s vessels with bunkers at high-seas through various high-seas fuel tankers in all areas of the Pacific Ocean.
