Ecuador is the main producer of tuna in the Eastern Pacific Ocean and the second largest worldwide. With around 300 thousand tonnes per year of catch, it has the largest tuna fleet and the largest processing capacity in the region.
The Port of Guayaquil is Ecuador’s is one of the largest ports in the country and is the country’s main port. 90% of the country’s imports and 50% of the country’s exports pass through the Port of Guayaquil.
