Da Nang is a located on South Central Coast of Vietnam along the South China Sea, at the mouth of the Hàn River.

Da Nang port consists of two main terminals: the Tien Sa terminal and Han river terminal. The Tien Sa terminal is a natural deep seaport with total berth length of 965 meters that includes two finger piers and a container berth. Tien Sa terminal can accommodate general cargo ships of 40,000 DWT, container ships of 2,000 TEUS and passenger ships of 75,000 GRT. The Han River terminal is located near the mouth of Han River at the heart of Danang city with a total berth length of 528 meters facilitating domestic cargo transport.

The approach to Song Hàn Terminal is 12 nautical miles (22 km) long with a navigation depth of 6-7m, and can accommodate vessels of up to 5,000 DWT.
